UTTOKA [ooh-toke-uh], aka, Grace Hilling is an artist based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, but grew up in the artistic scene of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She studied at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and earned her BFA in illustration.
Her work stands out in which it celebrates the traditional art form of sketching and painting in a digital style, taking inspiration from traditonal art of the 90’s and early 2000’s. She aims to create work that readers can find themselves lost in and project onto, conspiring unique and lovable characters and stories. She currently is focused on children’s literature, but has taken interest in graphic design, printmaking, editorial illustration, as well as graphic novels.
